Great antique utilities or pipe bag from Western North American. Late 1800’s or early 1900’s reservation made from a collection on the Yakama Reservation in Washington but may be from any number of Western states. Common style for many First Nations or Métis peoples. This is a type often used for a small pipe or used as a tobacco pouch but has many other uses such as holding money, trading post coupons and other necessities. A nice historic traditional item that is still very usable in great condition. It is 12″ long with the fringe. Is made of brain tan leather – the best kind! – and beaded on other. Has a brain tan tie cord with some white heart beads.
