Porcupine quill work rectangular bandolier bag 10” L x 8.5 W” and shoulder strap. The quillwork is beautifully done copy of 18th C eastern woodland bag.  It has 2 sections of 4 row sewn porcupine quillwork on flap and front of bag. Lower front includes 3 rosettes of sewn quillwork.  The strap includes long row of 4 strands of red, white, yellow, and green running stitch quill work. The interior of the bag is red and white stripped cotton cloth similar to what would have been used in the 1700s. The whole bag is surrounded by chalk white, large seed beads. A brass buckle makes the adjustment of the strap length easy. Design based on museum collections. Quillwork done by Indigenous K’iche Mayan women from Guatemala. Sunrise Drum is providing the porcupine quills, design of old traditional bags, and brain tan hides.
