Description

These sterling silver earrings include the Sunrise Drum symbol Paul René Tamburro’s hallmark/trademark. Paul René is a member of the Nulhegan Abenaki.

It is in a triangle representing a home – old style or in today’s world a “medicine lodge”. The sunrise and double curve represent a blessing and prayer for good home life.

The triangle / conical form of housing is one that is traditional – not only the Western Lakota “tipi” which is now usually covered with canvas but also, here in the eastern woodlands. Woodlands peoples had lodges / homes “wigwôm” were often temporary and were covered with bark. Yes – the conical tipi type homes are an Eastern item also not only western Native American – sort of our seasonal “mobile home”. People from Europe sometimes ask us “do you still live in tipis?” Of course, not – but… yes – on some weekends!

The earring wires are surgical steel hypoallergenic.  Check out our other earrings.
