LIMITED EDITION

19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE “NIAGARA” STYLE Bead work – called that because so much was sold in the late 1800’s to visitors to Niagara Falls.

The beads are amazing colors no longer made with names like ‘Old greasy yellow’, ‘Cheyenne pink’, Robin’s egg blue etc. (I call the pink “Raspberry sherbet”… seems the only color that it matches well!) THESE WERE MADE FOR BOTH EXPORT AND USE AT HOME BY MANY COMMUNITIES. THIS One likely Seneca, Tuscarora or Mohawk… many communities used this classic style. Several publications are available on this type of bead work if you want more information. IT ACTUALLY CAME FROM SCOTLAND IN THE PAST, MANY WERE EXPORTED TO THERE. WE PURCHASED THIS ONE FROM A TRAVELER FROM SCOTLAND IN 1995.
