Description
This is rare and represents Haudenosaunee and Algonquin beadwork done between 1860 to 1890s. This piece shows the innovation of Indian people to create items for sale that kept alive through traditional forms of beadwork. These were used as covers for pin cushions and wipes for fountain pens. This is 8″ around. There is no backing, so the stitching on the back can be seen, showing the construction. A little beadwork is missing on one lobe of overall flower shape and also some beads missing from one lobe of the center flower. It has several different colors of basket beads and clear beads.
