Description

This vintage pendant and pin is silver, marked AG chemical symbol for silver.  It has a roadrunner bird, mountains, ground, and cacti chased into silver.  The composite turquoise adds color and style.   This medallion is 1.5 inch and on the back is marked GUAD, because it was made in Guadalajara, Mexico.

This is a combined pin and pendant with an image of a roadrunner bird in sterling silver.  In some southwestern Indigenous cultures, the roadrunner symbolizes courage, speed, endurance and strength.  The footprint of the roadrunner makes an X, with one toe pointing in each direction.  It disguises the direction the bird is heading and is used as a sacred symbol to prevent evil spirits from following.  In pairs they attack snakes, including rattlesnakes. Their natural range is the Southwestern US and Northern Mexico. The Roadrunner is the state bird of New Mexico.
