Mi’kmaq heart-shaped pin cushion 1800s

Description

This lovely Mi’kmaq 2″ heart-shaped whimsy was made in the 1800s. It has a 3 lobed flower on both sides.  About 13/0 sized beads. The bead-work and velvet on both sides are intact. The ribbon around the outside is showing wear and the stuffing can be seen on the top. This gap provides insights into how it was made.   The pictures provide images of both side of the heart.
