Knifewing dancer – Zuni – signed H. Ivle – Turquoise and Coral in sterling

Description

This Knife Wing Dancer pendant was made by Horace Iule (Aiuli -1901 – 1978), Zuni artist.   “The Navajo and Pueblo Silversmiths” described Horace as “one of the two or three best artisans in the Zuni Pueblo”. His hallmark is on the back of the pendant. Knife Wing is half man-half eagle or spirit with razor sharp feathers made of flint.
