Description

Historical Style Copper Spoon – Pendant – sold.

This hand-wrought copper spoon is inspired by Wampanoag spoons found at what is now called Burr’s Hill in Warren Rhode Island.  It is an integration of many materials and synthesizing the historical knowledge and inspiration of the artist, continuing Indigenous cultures.

The heart is a symbol of the strawberry, the heart-berry, which some say we follow on the Milky Way when we die.  It is a reminder of our love for others.  The maker’s mark, the sunrise with the drum is the trademark of Paul René Tamburro, Abenaki artist.

This spoon can be worn as a pendant for easy access for eating or scooping water. It is 6″ long and 3″ wide.  It is protected by ProctaClear to keep it from tarnishing. It is safe to use with food or water, it used for coating grills, and kitchen copper.
