This hand-beaded red hand symbolizes the movement to raise awareness of the violence experienced by Indigenous women in the US and Canada.  American Indian [term used by US government] and Alaska Native women are more likely to be victims of violence than other women. This movement seeks to reduce the violence experienced by Indigenous women by raising awareness. The entire necklace is 23″, the medallion is 3.5″ and the medallion and fringe together are 7.75″ The medallion is suspended from two strands of interwoven beads.
