Vintage beautiful small Ash & Sweet Grass Basket

Description

Vintage mid-1900s small Canadian made sweetgrass and black ash splint basket. Lots of sweetgrass on this cute gem.  It is 2″ x 3″. There is no damage except one broken splint at the top.  There is rich green color on the inside and written “Made in Canada” on the bottom.  This is a type made by many elders on reserves/ reservations as an important part of their income.  Now very few are made esp. since the material – black ash and sweet grass have been hurt by diseases and are harder to find.  Nice cute basket for special display.
