BEAR – MAKAH PRINT by Alexander Swiftwater McCarty 2000 15/20

Description

Makah artist Alexander Swiftwater McCarty did several series of limited edition signed prints in the late 1990’s to 2000.  This one was #15 out of 20 he signed.  At the time Paul-René was director of the Reservation Based Program for the Evergreen State College in Olympia WA which had a program at Neah Bay. This #15 was picked out as among the best and later framed (almost $200 for the framing).  It depicts a representation theme from ancient Makah NW Coastal carvings- This one “Bear”.
