Beaded Leather Coin Purse Niagara Bead Work

Description

This Niagara bead work coin purse “whimsy” is vintage.  This is a piece of history; it is from the Niagara Falls souvenirs tradition sold by Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) people beginning in the 1830s into the 1900s. This coin purse is 5.5″ including leather thongs x 3″ across. There is no damage on the leather and bead work.  All of the beads on both sides are clear and intact. This is a lovely example of this style bead work. This was purchased on the Seneca Reservation. Check out our other whimsies!!
