Cuff Sterling Silver 2 Hearts & 2 Turtles 1″ x 6.5″

Beautiful Sterling Silver cuff with 2 Hearts & 2 Turtles. Handwrought repoussé and chased sterling silver and turtle cuff by Paul-René. The hawk is in the center and turtles on the side.  It is 1″ wide and 6.5″ around.  Signed with the SunriseDrum hallmark and stamped sterling. Repoussé (hammered from the back to raise the relief).

Chasing is the opposite of repoussé, and the two are used in conjunction to create a finished piece. Tolba (the turtle) the symbol for this Turtle Island. The hearts and turtles are surrounded by stamp-work, including “double curve” or “fiddle head ferns”, trees, Wôbanaki medicine  plant designs. These double curves and “fiddle head” medicine ‘Mide’ plant designs become canoes traveling around carrying the healing plants to help protect.

Cuff style bracelet have an opening of about 1 to 2 inches (depending on the size of the cuff) in order to put it on. Cuffs come in various sizes including child sized. An “average” cuff is 6″ (15 cm) of material. There is some flexibility as it is hardened by hammering – it is not brittle or totally rigid as in a sand cast or soldered cuff. Each is hand-wrought to accommodate various sizes. If you need a tighter or looser fit – send measurements of your wrist, we can ensure the right size for you, no two pieces are alike. This 6.5″ cuff is a little larger than a 6″ for a snug fit on a larger than average wrist.
