Large pierce work heart and star traditional Brooch – 3″ – SOLD

Description

Large Traditional style 3-inch Sterling silver 22 gauge with hand cut hummingbird and star ray edges. This one was handwrought by PR with 16-stars rays on the edge with stamped Woodland Wôbanaki designs all around. The middle section is a hand cut heart to pull the cloth through – it uses a pin attached to the side of the heart to secure it [see pics]. Surrounding the heart are the double curve fiddle head with medicine healing plants in their center – they then become canoes traveling in the circle offering healing for all. The triangles represent our homes – [wigwam style in English} and represent our families and Nations. The overall star shape and the heart is to remind us of our ancestors – to remember them and old ways – [the way to heaven is the “star path” of the milky way and we pick strawberries ‘the heart berry’ along the way to the ‘wonderful’ land above].  Signed with the Sunrise Drum trademark/hallmark and stamped sterling.
