Description

These sterling silver beaver earrings were handwrought repoussé and chased by Paul René Tamburro. Repoussé means the silver is hammered from the back to raise the relief). Chasing is the opposite of repoussé, indenting the material and the two are used in conjunction to create a finished piece.  See the sunrise drum trademark incorporated into the design.

Beavers are industrious and work together to achieve a goal. They were an important part of the fur trade.  The beaver is surrounded by “double curve” or “fiddle head ferns” and other Wôbanaki medicine ‘Mide’ plant designs become canoes traveling around carrying the healing plants to help protect.

The earrings have surgical steel wires and are 1.25″ in diameter.

Check out our other earrings including sterling silver repoussé and hand stamped, southwest style dangles and studs, (including turquoise and coral stones).
